Licensing Requirements

The Platte Canyon Water and Sanitation District recently adopted a regulation requiring all contractors that work on, excavate, or internally rehabilitate sanitary sewer service pipes within the District be licensed by the District.

Only licensed contractors will be allowed to work on or adjacent to a District sewer main.  All excavation activity on, or within five feet of a District owned sewer main MUST be inspected by a designated District representative.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

1.     Completed Application for Drain Layer / Plumber License form

2.     Proof of insurance naming Platte Canyon Water and Sanitation District as an additional insured

3.     Corporate Surety Bond in the amount of $10,000

4.     Payment of $50.00 to process the application.

INSPECTION CHARGES

·       Initial Inspection:       No Charge

·       Subsequent inspections caused by contractor delays or failure to meet District standards during the initial inspection will be assessed a fee of $50.00.

·       Any inspection conducted after business hours (M-F 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) or on scheduled District holidays will be assessed a fee of $250.00.

Please note that that the contractor licensing regulation will become effective May 1, 2014.  After that date, only licensed contractors will be allowed to work on or adjacent to District sewer mains.  Work requiring a license includes cured-in-place or any other internal sewer service lining process that extends through a sewer service to the District’s sewer main.
