District News Articles

  2. As reported in previous news articles, Platte Canyon has decommissioned its Platte River Sewage Lift Station located at 2650 W. Berry Ave., adjacent to the South Platte River. The pumping station was originally constructed in the early 1960’s to pump the majority of the District’s wastewater under the South Platte River into a Littleton sewer pipe that extends to the Littleton-Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant at Dartmouth Ave. and Santa Fe. Dr.

The District is now seeking proposals from qualified firms to remove all structures and level the site with existing soil and clean, approved fill material as necessary to restore the site to the existing elevation. The selected demolition contractor will be required to demolish and remove for salvage or disposal all structures, material, concrete foundations, and fencing presently existing on the site.

A pre-bid site inspection will be conducted at the site at 10:00 a.m. on July 29, 2008. Access to the lift station site is restricted so prospective bidders will meet with Platte Canyon staff at the south end of the Littleton Golf Course located at the northwest corner of W. Bowles Ave. and S. Federal Blvd. no later than 9:55 a.m., July 29, 2008. At that time, Platte Canyon representatives will direct prospective bidders to the lift station site. Attendance at the pre-bid site inspection is strongly encouraged.

All proposals must conform to the instructions in the Request for Proposal (RFP). Interested parties may obtain a copy of the RFP package at the District office located at 8739 W. Coal Mine Ave., Littleton, CO 80123 or by calling (303-979-2333).
