  1. 4/24/2009 DISTRICT WELCOMED NEW “EMPLOYEES” ON TAKE YOUR KIDS TO WORK DAY
  2. Some special guests accompanied their moms and dads to work April 23 for the annual “Take Your Kids to Work Day” program.

These new “employees”, ranging in age from 4 to 12, participated in a variety of District duties throughout the day.  One young man even brought his own business cards and District t-shirt (made by Mom), for his day of work with Dad.

The “Take Your Kids to Work Day” event is an outgrowth of “Take Our Daughters to Work,” organized by the Ms. Foundation for Women.  That national program, began over 16 years ago, was intended to foster discussion about the competing challenges of work and family.  This year’s theme was Building Partnerships to Educate and Empower.  This theme expresses what “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work” has done all along - empower children to make more informed decisions about careers and the work/family balance by educating them about the world of work and the possibilities available to them.

The District would like to thank the following kids for all their hard work:  Donovan and Cameron Morse, Matthew Yarish, and Dylan Quinn.
