  1. 1/15/2014 TEACHERS APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE 2014 METRO DENVER WATER FESTIVAL

    Teachers — You are invited to join us for Denver’s first sixth-grade water festival, hosted by the Suburban Distributors of Denver Water, Metropolitan State University of Denver One World One Water Center for Urban Water Education and Stewardship, and Denver Water.  The Water Festival is a free, fun opportunity for more than 800 students to learn about water through hands-on activities and lessons.

     

    The festival will provide balanced, age-appropriate water-related education to sixth graders in Platte Canyon’s service area as well as students in Denver Public Schools. Through engaging lessons and activities, students will gain an appreciation of the value of water and will have the tools they need to take an active role in water conservation and stewardship.

     

    When:  May 21, 2014

     

    Where:  Metropolitan State University of Denver, Auraria Campus

     

    Who:  6th grade students attending schools in the Denver Water combined service area. Transportation is provided, making this a free event for teachers who apply and are selected to participate. Space is limited to 800 students so please apply early.

     

    How: Please review the following guidelines before applying to participate in the festival:

     

    ·       Teachers of sixth-grade students may submit applications starting at 9 a.m., Jan. 15, 2014.

     

    ·       Applications must be fully completed to be considered.

     

    ·       One application per school (all teachers from a school can apply using the same application).

     

    ·       All applicants will be notified via email of acceptance to the festival.

     

    ·       Acceptance of applications will be first come, first serve. Please fill out the form below to apply for the festival.

     

    The registration deadline is January 22, 2014 (one form per school only)
